GOSPEL NUGGET #8

Ro 3:24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

To be justified is to be declared righteous by God. We are all sinners in God's eyes and so therefore not one among us is righteous before Him. "...in Your sight no one living is righteous." (Psalm 143:2)

How then is a sinner justified? The verse answers it for us. It tells us three things:

 a) The manner of justification: "freely"
 b) The mount (or basis) of justification: "by His grace"
 c) The means of justification: "through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

The word "freely" in the Greek means without cause. When God looks at us, He sees nothing in us that would give Him the reason and the basis to justify us. Nothing in us can cause Him to justify us.

Rather, He justifies sinners by His grace. Because Christ His Son paid for all the penalty of our sin.
