GOSPEL NUGGET # 39

Re 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood...

All the redeemed in heaven will sing a redemption song of praise to the Savior. Notice very carefully a part of the lyrics of this song: "You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood..."

You would be the loneliest person in heaven if you go there through redeeming yourself by your own efforts. You would be out of place. While all the redeemed in heaven are singing: "Praise be to the Savior for saving me!", you, on the other hand, will be alone in a corner singing: "Praise be to me for I have redeemed myself by my own efforts!"

No. Salvation is designed by God to be 100% His work through His Son Jesus Christ so that all glory will go to Him. It is rightfully His anyway. It is this way so that our mouths in heaven will be opened to sing only a song that glorifies His Son. And when the Son is glorified, the Father will be glorified.
