GOSPEL NUGGET # 33

Ex 14:13 And Moses said to the people, "...STAND STILL, AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD, which He will accomplish for you today."

The situation here was this: Israel was cornered and the Egyptian army was running after them. But God interposed with His salvation. He opened up the Red Sea and Israel passed through and was delivered.

Although this refers to physical salvation, its principles can also be applied to spiritual salvation:

* Salvation is not the result of our works:--- It says here: "Stand still..." In the work of salvation, we contribute nothing. We simply stand still.

* Salvation is not of ourselves:--- It says here: "Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord." We are not to look for it in ourselves. Rather, we are to look outside of ourselves to the Lord.

* Salvation is God's work:--- It says here: "Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you..."

* Salvation can be possessed now:--- It says here: "Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today." You and I can be saved today.

My friend, if you want to be saved, look at what God did in Calvary: "Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He has accomplished for you on that day."
