GOSPEL NUGGET #215

The True Value Of The Sacrifice Of The Savior

Eph 5:2 ...Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Notice, that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was a "sweet-smelling aroma" to God. This is a beautiful and a figurative way of saying that God was pleased with the sacrifice the Lord Jesus made for man's sins on the cross.

The true value of what He did on the cross for us is not determined by what you and I think about it, feel about it, view it, do about it etc.

Its value is seen in what God thinks about it, how He feels about it, how He views it and the esteem He has on it. Even if all the world convene to reject it and put it off as nothing, it matters not.

It does not lessen its value, if we reject it. It does not add to its value, if we receive it by faith.

What matters, is that, to God, it was "a sweet-smelling aroma." He was pleased with it, He was satisfied with it for the wretched sinner's complete and eternal salvation.

God was completely and totally satisfied with the Savior's death on the cross for your salvation. Are you? Have you placed your entire confidence in it for your salvation?
