Insulting God In Salvation
The Bible says that Christ and His death on the cross is the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16 and 1 Cor. 1:18). Therefore, Christ's death on the cross is sufficient for our salvation. You don't have to add anything to it in order to be saved. God's power does not need our help, assistance, or aid. Christ's death on the cross alone is enough --- God's power alone is enough.
Here's how we insult God in this matter --- When we add our good works, our sacrifices, and what have you to Christ's death on the cross for our salvation, we are essentially saying to God: "God, Your power is not enough to save a sinner like me. It needs assistance on my part."
Here's how to glorify God in the same --- Acknowledge Christ's death on the cross as God's power unto salvation by putting your entire trust in it. It's essentially saying: "God, I am confident that Your power is enough for my salvation. I trust in it alone."

GOSPEL LIGHT #664
You don't need religion or the Bible to tell you that you ought to be good. That you ought to be good is something you already know even without all the religions in the world. Yes, even without the Bible.

Christ Our Seventh Year
De 15:1 "At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts.
De 15: 2 "And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the LORD'S release.
There was to be a seven-year cycle for the Jews. At the end part of the seven-year cycle, meaning, the seventh year, a release of debts was to be made. This is called the Lord's release. They were to be released from their obligation in paying off their debts.
Blessed seventh year! The seventh-year is the Sabbatical year. It was a year of rest and release, even release from the obligation of paying one's debts.
Christ is the real Sabbath.
Mt 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins...
The word "forgiveness" here can also mean remission or release. In Christ, a sinner can have remission or release from his sins!
Enough of your years of being a slave to sin's guilt and power! Come to Christ, enter the seventh year as it were through faith in Him, and enjoy the Lord's release!
