"Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future." Pro. 31:25

Here's a woman who can smile at the future. If you read the entire chapter the reason why she can laugh at the future is because wisdom has prepared her, diligence has equipped her, faith has anchored her, and here, strength and dignity has stabilized her. Strength enables her to handle whatever is coming. Dignity enables her not to be ashamed of what lies ahead. 

Let's apply this to salvation. Christ is our strength and dignity. It is said that Christ is the power of God. That's strength. It is also said that Christ is our righteousness. That's dignity. You see, clothed with Christ we can smile at the future. 

"She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet." 
Pro. 31:21

Scarlet clothing back then was often made of high quality fabric. So they could be kept warm during winter. Look at them here. Not only clothed in strength and dignity but also clothed in scarlet. Scarlet is red. Christ's scarlet blood was shed on the cross of Calvary.

When the chilling snow of God's judgment comes, those who are covered with the scarlet blood of Christ has nothing to be afraid of.

God does not want you to dread the future. He wants you to smile at the future. Come to Christ in faith and be clothed in strength, dignity and scarlet.
