GOSPEL NUGGET # 45

2Sa 9:1 Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

A kindness shown to someone for somebody else's sake. A benefit given to one because of another. One's merit is another's credit. What could this be! It is nothing less than the principle of salvation!

I received God's salvation
And spiritual blessings not because me
But because Somebody paid all the expenses
And so I got it free!

"...even as God FOR CHRIST'S SAKE hath forgiven you." (Eph. 4:32) KJV
