Joh 19:30 ...Jesus...said, "It is finished!"

The work of redemption has been accomplished. The prophecies in the Old Testament concerning man's redemption are fulfilled. The debt has been fully paid. In short, it is finished.

The Lord Jesus has perfectly and completely finished the work of redemption. 

 Now, we don't improve on what's already been perfectly and completely done. No one improves on perfection. For a sinner today to work for his salvation is 2000 years too late. 2000 years ago, the work was done. It was finished. What he must do now is to be satisfied with it by faith.
