GOSPEL NUGGET # 93
Ge 15:2 But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"
Ge 15:5 Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be."
6 And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
* A Helpless Realization: "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless" * A Hopeful Revelation: "Look toward heaven. So shall your descendants be."
* A Happy Reception: "he believed (trusted) in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness."
What is this but an exact parallel of a saved sinner!
A saved sinner is someone who first realizes his helpless condition. Then God will reveal to him a hopeful revelation of the Gospel. And the sinner receives it with the happy reception of faith.
* A Helpless Realization: His eyes are opened to his helpless condition
* A Hopeful Revelation: Christ died for his salvation.
* A Happy Reception: He believed (trusted) in the Lord resulting in his justification.
