The Lord Jesus Christ---The Divine Zealot
In the New Testament, there were people who were called Zealots. In fact, one of the Lord's disciples was a Zealot (see Luke 6:15).
A Zealot 1) was one who was jealous for the deliverance and freedom of Israel from foreign domination. 2) His consuming desire was that Israel should be rightfully reigned over by God and none other. 3) He was even willing to give his life for this cause.
Applying all these to the Lord Jesus Christ---He was just like that. He was a Zealot, so to speak. He zealously desires our salvation from sin, that we should be freed from its bondage and be under His benevolent sway. He was so into this cause that He even gave His life for it.
My friend, come to Him for salvation. Trust in Him and what He did on the cross. He zealously desires your salvation.
