“…I
bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself.” (Exodus 19:4)
God bearing Israel on eagles’ wings is a picture of grace. God, through His
grace, brought them to Himself. Eagles are also known for their powerful wings. God, through His power, brought Israel to Himself.
It is the same in the salvation of a sinner. As sinners, we were separated from
God because of our sins. But through the grace of God in Christ Jesus, who is the power of God to salvation, not
through our own efforts, we can be brought to Him.
Just as an eagle spreads its wings to carry its young so the Lord Jesus stretched out His hands on the cross to bring us to God:
1PE 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust,
so that He might bring us to God…
If you are still unsaved right now, come to Christ, cling to the cross
in faith and you will be brought to God. We cannot bring ourselves to God. We must be brought to Him. And it is only through Christ.
