Ps 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
God does not only want us to intellectually know about His salvation, He also desires that we experientially know His salvation. The gospel lodged in the head is not enough. It must be embraced by the heart.
There is a mountain of difference between a person who knows about Mount Everest by devouring books about Mount Everest and a person who knows Mount Everest because he has been there himself. The former is intellectual head knowledge, the latter is experiential knowledge; he experienced Mount Everest himself.
When they talk about Mt. Everest, you can sense in the latter an x-factor in him. It's different. You know he's been there.
Sadly, many know about the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Christ and yet they have not truly trusted in Christ alone for salvation. God does not only want us to acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, He also wants us to embrace Him and experience His salvation for ourselves.
He does not only want us to acknowledge the Bread from heaven, He also desires that we partake of it by putting our trust in Him and what He did on the cross for our salvation.
